La Escocesa is a centre for multi-disciplinary artistic production, focussed on the visual artist, self-managed and with a strong public vocation. It covers the needs of artists during the different phases of the process of artistic creation. It makes studios spaces available, promotes the mobility of artists, and accompanies creators in the presentation of their work, seeking agreements with spaces and entities for their promotion. It has 21 fully functioning studios, ranging from 25 to 35 square metres. It forms part of the Xarxa de Fàbriques de Creació (Network of Art Factories) of the Institut de Cultura of Barcelona.
